Call me Tamara. I am first and foremost a storyteller, a writer who found her purpose lending a voice to others.
Born in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina, I am a former refugee and an American citizen. By day, I work in development for RefugePoint, an international NGO focused on creating lasting solutions for the world’s most vulnerable refugees. Recently, I finished my Masters in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration with the University of London’s School of Advanced Study and Refugee Law Initiative.
By night, I steal away to write this blog, connecting with other refugees and advocates in the hopes of telling their stories to humanize and individualize refugeehood. You can read more pieces of my refugee story here.
